The Red Lion has a big bar and a comfortable atmosphere. Its themed conservatory is a real eye opener! It has appeared a few times in CAMRA's National Good Beer Guide.

Had a good lunch. Not a lot of choice but what we had was good. Service was efficient.

The place is in desperate need of a revamp.

  • Paul Quinn

One of the best pubs in the city centre. Top class food, good prices, good range of beers, Guinness to die for, spotless, and most importantly you get served quickly.

    Proper pub.

  • Tom Marples

Poorly run pub to say the least. A middle-aged skinny man at the end of bar was so drunk he was disturbing customers but the two barmaids just laughed along with him. Selection of ales has worsened and the interior resembles something from the 1980s, very outdated.

Went to the Red Lion the other night and had a really good evening. Discovered that there a new manager taken over. He's doing a really good job... keep it up.
