We have 8 handpulls, 4 real ciders and a kitchen producing some proper pub food. A real pub with a range of amenities, including a beer garden, pool table, jukebox and traditional pub games, there is something for everyone here.
The pub's unusual name have two possible origins. The first suggestion is that it was a swipe at licensing laws that led to the pub being forced to close when an oversight led to the licence not being renewed on time. The second suggestion is that a 19th century shop on the premises was closed to make way for the pub.

Went last Thursday, quiz night. Had a cracking evening. The quiz was as good as it gets, really original, witty and involving the quizzers.
They've now got 6 superb real ales on, tried the Timmy Taylor's (gorgeous) and the Jaipur (smooth as silk).
Best thing is the friendly atmosphere, everyone with smiles on their faces.
Shall definitely make it there on a regular basis.
