Bowshaw Inn

We go quite regularly for a carvery meal and so far we have had lovely food, until last evening.

I had invited 4 guests and it was my 80th birthday. Sad to report basically only turkey meat was available. All the other meats were almost finished, only the very ends of each joint were left among the remnants of previously cut meats.

Also, I was unaware that you now automatically add a service charge of 10% on the bill. Of course the waitress was tipped as normal, so I think that it should be pointed out to the customer that a service charge is already on the bill.

Sorry to have a moan, but I feel I had to do it.

Rubbish pub, horrible food. The pub was just full of drunks and people smoking weed.

Went in for a drink and Sunday lunch, there were 10 of us out for a double birthday.

The drinks were very reasonably priced and the place very clean and tidy.

The only downside was that because of the size of our party we had to wait for over an hour. But when we did get to our tables the food was really nice, all very freshly cooked with extras if you wanted it.

I would fully recommend this place for a carvery anytime. And unlike my local the staff were all to willing to help and give service with a smile.
