The George & Dragon dates back to the 16th century and is one of the oldest buildings in Wentworth. It is now a family pub with log fires and real ales.
The pub is situated to the north of Sheffield, not far off the M1. It has its own brewery nearby and sells the bottled versions in the village shop across the road.

Went last week. Large dog allowed into the rear dining room (2 tables). Dog all over seats and paws on table. Then sneezed on table. Revolting!

A good pub tainted by the revolting and shameful acts of the so-called owner, Michael Kenworthy.
My partner and her friend were just at the ladies' as our taxi arrived. As I waited by the door, Mr Kenworthy, inebriated, slammed open the door to the ladies' toilet and proceeded to make vulgar comments regarding, presumably, his own pornographic and sad fantasies.
This obviously caused shock and upset. I asked for an apology on behalf of the girls. Michael Kenworthy was not willing to apologise, failing to acknowledge how abhorrent his behaviour had been.
The other staff were lovely, the pub is nicely presented and good selection of drinks. It is truly a shame that all that was masked by the repugnancy of the owner, and his, all too apparent, lack of respect and appreciated for his punters.

Been going to this place some time. I have read some of the negative feedback and find some of it insulting to the staff and owners.
Never have I had to complain. Several time during our meal we were asked if everything was OK. It's at that point I would raise a point, don't wait until you have all finished then complain.
Please go to this pub, yes pub, not the Wentworth Ritz. The food is amazing. If it's not to your liking please say so and they will do their best to rectify.
Can I say also Donna and Adam behind the bar are always on the ball and a pleasure to meet each time we go.
I give this place 100% for always trying new menus and cask ales. Please give it a try.

I don't really know where to start. There was an attitude as soon as we walked into the place. The atmosphere wasn't very nice. We waited ages at the bar before being served by the woman behind the bar who didn't look like she wanted to serve anybody. It was shocking to learn later that she was the manager!
We sat down to eat. We had reserved the table for 3:30PM. No one came with any menus. After we searched the place we finally found some. When we went to order the food they had no beef or pork. When the person I was with pointed this out, we were met with a grunt and an extremely rude response.
We should have left then. But I informed my party and they changed their order. We also asked if they could prepare a slice of cheese on toast for a child. They refused, saying they didn't have a grill.
When I spoke to my friend about the attitude and rudeness of the staff, I was challenged by the woman with bad attitude. When I told her that her response wasn't in anyway good customer practice, she told the bar staff to cancel my order and told me to leave. So our party of 7 left, including two children.
Never again will I set foot in this place. Apparently she is known for her bad attitude and some of the people when we were leaving said they were not surprised.

We have visited on many an occasions (over at least 10 years) but tonight was the crowning glory. It happened to be our wedding anniversary so we called in along with our daughter, son-in-law and the grandkids. We were in at about 5:15PM and were told that food was served after 6PM. Not a problem, we would have a drink first.
Back to the bar at 6PM with quite a large food order to be told that the fryer was broken (and had been since Friday), which seriously reduced our choice My wife enquired why we had not been told of this situation when we first went, in order that we could have (a) ordered something different or (b) gone somewhere else. The (I assume landlady) intervened and basically told my wife to take it or leave it and returned to chat with the people at the bar.
The other bar staff were obviously very embarrassed at the outburst of the landlady and didn't know what to say. Other members of the public heard all the "goings on" and agreed that she had been very rude indeed.
I do hope this is taken in the spirit that it is sent, as we do not want other people to be subjected to this kind of "service". We have had many a good meal/drink at this pub but will not be returning or recommending solely due to this person's behaviour.
