We held the wake for my sister's funeral on 2nd November 2018.
There was no tea and coffee I had to ask staff for it. I did ask where the tea and coffee urns were. I got told if people go to the bar they can buy it.
The food was awful. So much so that I asked to speak to the landlady and asked her to put more food on. I said I will pay for it, no probs. At that she provided a dish of chips and 2 very cold, uncooked bowls of pasta. We got all in all a plate of cold awful unrecognisable pizza, dish of Doritos, cold mini sausages and small savoury eggs, dish of cold chips, 2 plates of sandwiches, inedible quiche, a small plate of pork pie on a table next to the toilets, a belly pot of chilli and rice.
On top of all this, upon arrival none of the food was covered - it was stuck at the back of the room on a paste table. Disgusting.
There were over 100 guest and like I said, I did request more food but got a dish of chips. Absolutely disgusting.
The room looked unkempt, scruffy. Never have I been more embarrassed. My sister's wake. Disgusting after such a beautiful funeral. Ratings 000.

We held the wake for my mum's funeral at The Angel Pub last week. The room allocated to us was perfect for the 40 people who came, plenty of room and seating. Lots of hot tea and coffee on arrival. The buffet was superb. Lots of choice, freshly made and the sandwiches were delicious! Lovely big fresh bread rolls - yum!
The staff were attentive and the landlady made booking the venue very easy. It was really good value for money, too. We would highly recommend this venue.
Many thanks to all the staff and management there.

Has a really good music quiz on a Thursday night. Friday night has a good general knowledge quiz.
Landlord/landlady and bar staff are excellent.

Always closed. Turned up on a Friday night at ten o'clock. Cheers! Should not have bothered!

Visited Sunday 2nd march with my sister, my niece and her daughter.
Had Sunday lunch of roast pork. Very enjoyable and the serving was plenty, the service was pretty fast and not expensive. Had apple pie and custard afterwards.
Although not not many in, it was nice compared to some places where there can be too many people.
Local and would go again, very friendly.

Excellent local pub. Best pint of beer in Woodhouse, great jam night on Thursdays with a free buffet, good bands at regular intervals and food is excellent and not expensive.

Went to the Angel pub on Sunday 8th July and was absolutely disgusted by the service my wife and I received. We waited 40 minutes for our Sunday lunch, then the chef came with our food and said we were at fault. Very poor indeed. Will not go ever again. Really amateur service.

I took a group of OAPs for lunch on Wednesday. We all know how hard to please they are but they all agreed that the quality of food was excellent and very good value for money. The service was also very good.
We will be making another visit in the near future.

Cheap beer and great food at very reasonable prices. Also a very good children's menu. The kids room is also good with a pool table and there is a nice garden area for the kids at the side. Brad & Vicky who run the pub are very friendly and always make you welcome. Give it a go!

Tastefully refurbished, clean and welcoming. Brad is the perfect host, Vick's food is tasty and hearty. The beer gardens are vast. Well worth a visit.
