The Wick At Both Ends has officially reopened its doors after a six-month refurbishment. Located at 149-151 West Street in Sheffield city centre, the bar welcomed patrons back on Thursday 6th June with a special launch event featuring a complimentary glass of Prosecco or cocktail for each customer.
The bar, which closed unexpectedly towards the end of 2023, is now under new ownership. The extensive makeover has introduced high-end sound and lighting systems, a smoke machine, and a glitter ball, adding to the venue's vibrant atmosphere. Despite the new look, the bar has retained several of its original features, including the famous "lemon drizzle" shot, known for its fiery presentation.
In addition to classic cocktails, The Wick At Both Ends now offers large "fish bowl" cocktails perfect for sharing. Options include blue lagoon, sex on the beach, and cosmopolitan, each priced at £50.
Upon reopening, manager Nimo reassured regulars: "It's the same concept and 80 per cent the same as before but with a new design. We might be different faces but we'll be running the same things and you won't feel like a stranger here."
The bar features DJs every Friday and Saturday, playing house classics and new disco into the night, and live music on Sundays. Wednesdays are dedicated to students, with special offers for those with valid ID.
