A city centre pub got a shock visit from firemen on Wednesday after a car crashed into it. The elderly couple driving the car had to be cut free from the wreckage after ploughing into the Cricketers Arms. The pub was not damaged by the impact and the owners of the car were treated for shock but otherwise unhurt.
