News for Hallamshire Hotel:
Prepare for a rejuvenated experience on West Street as The Hallamshire Hotel, formerly known as Bloo 88, holds its grand reopening on 2nd February 2024. Extensive refurbishments have been underway, spearheaded by the venue's new management, promising a redefined nightlife experience for patrons.
The dedicated team has spared no effort in transforming the venue into a hub of entertainment, featuring a fresh dance floor, state-of-the-art sound system, revamped décor, innovative drink selections, and the revival of live music in the upstairs function room turned gig space.
The lower level boasts a distinctive aesthetic, described as a creation straight from Stanley Kubrick's imagination, providing Sheffield with a dance floor unlike any seen in years. A new DJ booth and sound system set the tone for a fantastic night out, while the redesigned layout creates an intimate atmosphere tailored for late-night revelry.
The cocktail menu has undergone a thoughtful curation, offering a blend of classic favourites and exclusive in-house specials, complemented by an impressive selection of craft beers and ciders.
Will McMahon, Operations Manager of The Hallamshire Hotel, expressed excitement about the changes, stating, "We hope to redefine nightlife and live music on West Street and beyond. Our vision was to create an atmosphere and environment that Sheffield has never seen before, and we can't wait to showcase what we've come up with. Whether you're a student, a live music enthusiast, or just passing by, The Hallamshire Hotel is set to become your destination of choice."
The upstairs area, previously underutilised, now features a new stage and sound system, ready to host extraordinary acts, paying homage to the venue's rich history as a platform for legendary Sheffield artists like Pulp and Richard Hawley.
Will continued "There's immense pressure to get the musical history right for this venue. We've garnered fantastic interest from both national and local promoters, and the gig calendar is filling up. We're eager to showcase top acts."
The beer garden has also undergone a transformation, with a new covered and heated seating area, inviting guests to relax outside, regardless of the weather.
"The beer garden was in a bit of a state when we took over. A friend of mine said it felt a bit like the smoking area at East Midlands Airport. We've definitely spent a lot of effort making it feel much more welcoming than that!" joked Will.
Mark your calendars for the grand reopening on Friday, 2nd February, 2024, featuring a night of bands and DJs across both floors. The Hallamshire Hotel extends an invitation to everyone to join in the celebration of this new era in one of Sheffield's most cherished venues.
